I've been learning the bass parts and re-learning the guitar for this song. I suspect that even for Rush -the guys who nail the likes of "Natural Science" and "La Villa Stangiato"-this one's particularly tricky in some respects. Geddy's voice is quite a bit lower (octave?) than the record. Alex's take on the chorus (where he's playing the 12-string acoustic) is also lower in pitch (the "PW" version picks the 1st string notes of the 5th, 7th and 8th frets (A, B, C) during "Just between us".

Merely narrates, eh? Your statement is both merely anecdotal and WAY off course. Perhaps a course in remedial musicality is in your future; I suspect you could use it. Your trivia ain't so hot either; this song appeared on "Permanent Waves" -"Moving Pictures'" predecessor. You're apparently entitled to love this one after all! Dig in and let us know (narrate? recite? spout hot air?) when you've figured out what a time signature is, what it represents and how Rush music deploys it like no other.

DLR is an even bigger disappointment to Van Halen fans nowadays, trust me. At least Geddy's voice changes pitch regularly. It's almost like Dave phones his vocals in, no feeling and no connection to the audience whatsoever.

They are always tight, the sound is very 'echoe-y' but....wish I was there. I've seen Rush twice in my life. they never played this one and it's one of my fav's. Good job man.

Just between us... I think its time for us to recognize... that Rush is the greatest power trio of all time, not to mention their longevity and ability to get even better with age(not unlike fine wine).
