The famous "I'm a picking, and I'm a grinning" from He Haw will stay with me forever.... His captivating smile was PRICELESS!!!! He also was a good pilot, flying his own Cessna 310R all over.... What a fantastic entertainer. .. To see Roy coming, your day just got better....

This was recorded in 1977 at show called Country Music comes to Carnegie Hall. The show featured Roy Clark, Freddie Fender, Hank Thompson and Don Williams.A live recording of the show was released on a double LP album. I have a copy of it.. it is awesome.

Roy Clark was one of the best ever, and anybody who knocks his "pickin" is either totally tone deaf, stupid, or jealous. I'm a "fiddle player" and can appreciate the talent Roy has - I wish I was that good.

I mean, how could someone dislike this? Everytime I hear this my Tourettes starts acting up- a nervous tic in my foot, patting it in time, and vocal tics of me yelling "Hell Yeah!".

This is how "Under the Double Eagle" is played, here in the USA. And the two dislikers of this need to be ushered off into a room with a big sink, a big colander, and lotsa big fellas in lab coats wearing black rubber gloves up to their elbows. They will be searching for evidence of two walnut-size brains.

My brother used to play this when he played the bar circuit in Stouffville, Bowmanville, and other areas around Ontario, Canada. He sent R.C. a demo tape and was invited to a "duel" by R.C. himself, who was touring in Canada, only to be cancelled because R.C. was ill. The audience always went nuts when my brother did the fast part. Love Roy Clark!

He always used to say, "This is a song called Under the Double Eagle. I just refer to my version as Look Out Below!" He is such a good entertainer. He always makes me laugh.
