Love the song. Hee Haw had aired on CBS-TV for three seasons (1969 summer season, 1969-1970 regular season, and 1970-1971 regular season) but it met the same network fate as other rural programming on CBS at the end of the 1971 season. Lawrence also seen his network program cancelled for similar reasons...Red Skelton seen his 20 year program come to an end in 1971 for some of the same reasons (older demographic, maybe less sophisticated, less likely to spend their money on anything being touted as a must-have). Hee Haw entered first-run syndication in the fall of 1971 and remained in first-run syndication through the spring of 1993. It's last season, 1992-1993, was retitled "Hee Haw Silver" to commemorate the program's 25th season in production. The last season was composed mostly of clips from the program's first 20+ years but it did air some newer footage, too. The program is currently airing in reruns on RFD-TV on Sunday nights. It's been part of RFD's line-up since 2008. Prior to this rerun period, the former Nashville Network cable channel (1983-1999) had aired reruns for four years (1993-1997). RFD has aired reruns of Hee Haw the longest.

Great Song and tribute to Lawrence Welk! Hee Haw and Welk used to be on the same time. These were great shows and better music than the crap today.

It is the first time I heard this song. Hee Haw and Welk lasted for twenty more years. It now lives somewhere on another channel or public TV.
