The only city in the U.S. to have marshal law declared since the civil war. They beat soldiers on a regular basis, and murder was not uncommon.

Had a girlfriend who was from Phenix City when I was in the Army over in Bamberg, Germany. She used to play this song.

Yep! You did! You spelled the city if you were in AZ. The one in AL is spell without the letter "o" in it. I should know - I'm from there.
