"Manifesto" is the title track to Roxy Music's sixth studio album. Written by Bryan Ferry and Phil Manzanera.

Released in March 1979, 'Manifesto' was Roxy Music's first album after an almost four-year hiatus and drummer "The Great" Paul Thompson's last with the band.

The audio for this video was taken from a superb hi-res vinyl rip of an original UK pressing (not made by me).

OK, agreed. But this is a really great song. I also agree that they were "absolutely (fucking) fantastic"!

I couldn't agree more. The Odeon was a top venue, as was the Coventry Theatre. I saw loads of groups at both of them and I can't remember a bad gig. Those cattle shed places are just not the same.

yes , happy days, the tourists came back to the odeon later on the year as a main act, i never saw roxy again, i missed the flesh and blood and avalon tour, saw ferry in 88 and 94, he was good, but not th energy of roxy, glad i saw them at the odeon though, loved concerts there, the bigger halls just dont have the same atmosphere

Yes, that's right, The Tourists were the support and I seem to remember they were quite good. Sadly, I can't remember too much about Roxy's performance but I can clearly recall them starting with this. I saw them several times over the years including twice on their reunion tour in 2001 when they played loads of early stuff and still sounded amazing.

My fascination with Roxy Music started from that song.

I'll go you one better - First concert I ever saw: Roxy Music Siren Tour 1975. KSU Gymnasium. You got a damn fine memory for details sir. Last concert I ever saw Bryan Ferry - As Time Goes By (?) tour House of Blues Las Vegas, 1999. - I need to get out more often....

I was at that show, Richfield Coliseum! I have forgotten how he came out though. You remember the encore? When he came out smoking... without his jacket. He seemed like he didn't want to quit for the night, the crowd was into him. If you remember this then you are an old fart now, just like me.

I saw them on this tour at the Birmingham Odeon in 1979. I think it may even have been the same night that the antichrist was elected Prime Minister. Very, very underrated song.
