what a waste of time ... saw an argument about Hendrix and Gallagher and thought I'd read ... so many flaws in all of these below ... people claiming jimi said this about Rory etc .... just because a humble person says "go ask Gallagher" etc, doesn't mean Gallagher's better... neither does it mean he's not ... there is absolutely NO way of deciphering who is better than the other ... they both could do things better then the other, and there are many more people who can do things better than these two... these two just happen to be extra special at what they do.... not necessarily the best, but special ... I'm pretty sure had Rory been asked the same question, he would have said "go ask Hendrix" ... or maybe even "go ask Jeff Beck" or "go ask ???" ... had Hendrix said another name, we'd be arguing who's better between them ... there is absolutely NO WAY to come to a conclusion on this... and not just because they're both dead .... because it's all opinion ! both were great/elite ... I happen to like Gallagher better.... just his style and what he plays, but Hendrix is just as talented... now go listen to Jeff Beck :) he's in the same class!

Not to be nasty, but I hear this all the time and have also heard that Jimi said the same thing about Jimmy Page. He was asked this question on The Dick Cavett Show, but all he said was "I'm not the best". Do you know of any proof of what he said about Rory? I'd like to see it. Cheers!

Ya know, I keep hearing this but I've yet to see if what Jimi said is true. I have also heard that Jimmy Page said almost the same thing. Anyone have any vid or audio to substantiate this? Thanks and no insult intended, just askin!
