Rory Gallagher - Pistol Slapper Blues 1972

Rory Gallagher (2 March 1948--14 June 1995) was an Irish blues/rock guitarist

Well I'd know my dog

Anywhere hear him bark

I know my rider, if I see her in the dark

Ain't but to kind of people

In this world that I can't stand.

That a lying woman, and a cheatin', knockin' man

You didn't say you loved me

When you where stretched out across my bed.

You drinkin' moonshine whiskey

And talkin' all outta your head

We'll I feel like slapping

My pistol in your face

I'm gonna let the grave yard be your resting place

(Instrumental)

I'd know my dog

Anywhere hear him bark

I know my rider, if I see her in the dark

Ain't but to kind of people

In this world that I can't stand.

That a lying woman, and a cheatin', knockin' man

Mmmmm Mmmm

I'm going, I'm going

I do not know where

You can ...my baby

but I just won't care

I know my dog

Any Where I hear him bark

I'd know my rider, if I seen her in the dark

I'd know my rider, if I seen her in the dark

Goddamn, this is fantastic. Proves you don't have to come from the Delta to have the blues.

@ThePowerslave94 I know how you feel.. I'm 15 and im a huge Rory fan and have been for a few years now, along with a good few of my friends.. But it really is sad how no body knows my age really knows about a legend such as Gallagher, most people my age don't even know Hendrix.. These are musicians with real talents..

makes me sad my generation doesn't appreciate rory as much as they should... if only i could sing like that i could attempt to try to carry on his legacy, well ill still keep on playing my guitar in that case...

I've always believed that Rory's acoustic playing is what separated him from the other greats likes SRV, Hendrix, Clapton etc. Is he loved playing and was a very good acoustic player.

I could just stay here sipping my little glass of red wine, listening to Rory till God decides to switch the lights off for good.

Blind Boy Fuller's song. In his version, I believe he said "cheating monkey man". Maybe that was jargon for an a guy that dallied with other mens' wives. Stones had a song about a Monkey Man. Was it the same idea there?

On the lyrics, it's not a cheating knocking man, it's a cheating Arkie man.
