I have not heard this song for decades, most likely around 1969 was the last I heard it on Music for Lovers Only on Saturday night AM radio -WAEB , Allentown, PA hosted by Jeff Frank. Recently the tune and the opening lyrics would pop into my head..."Diane, Diane....write my name next to yours in the sand".....but I wasn't quite sure who sang it...and without the artist ...it was not showing up on a search. Then I recalled the song "Sandy" which I knew was by Ronnie and the Daytonas....and the fact that it was a beach song made me pretty sure . What a great feeling it was to finally bring up the song on YouTube.....Thanks lonelysea1980 ....it brings back a flood of memories and flashbacks....all good ....as it was the BEST of times.
