Go figure the fickle buying public. This beautiful tune is every bit as appealing as WONDERFUL SUMMER. However, the poor sales were every bit as BAD as Dot record's cover design for this great singer's lone album (DLP 25555).

Just for one day --just one --to go back to my senior year , '63/'64, BEFORE 11/22/63. Our last moments of innocence. Robin's voice, & this song remind me because of course, it was out AFTER 11/22, & yet still had that feeling of those last days before Dallas, when it all changed forever. Wolfsky9

LOVE this song. Even if you've never heard it before it makes you feel that era. This would have been the perfect B side to Wonderful Summer.

Can we even begin to imagine this, has Brian Wilson--in '64--produced this ?? It would have been even better, for certain. Wolfsky9

As others have commented : now as I approach 68 y/o, there are those times -like now, listening to this gorgeous song--when I so miss the late 50's, & 60's, even with all the social issues, the music was THE best, & like so many others of us, I simply was unable to imagine that our music --like our youth, looks & energy --would sooner than we could imagine, be gone forever- makes me tear up thinking of it. --That said, WHAT A TIME IT WAS TO GROW UP & BE YOUNG!! I loved this song, though I heard it only 3 times on 950AM, KIMN Boss Radio in Denver. It's gorgeous, & even with Jackie's voice pitched up, it ought to have been a monster hit, in the Winter of '63--'64. I was a senior at South High in Denver. Wolfsky9

Lesley Gore and Robin Ward, my two all time favourite singers. 50 years ago, I was 15. Thanks for the memories.

Well, having turned 67 y/o, I'm more wistful than ever. Hearing this makes me sad--I hate to admit --because that innocence is gone. Forever. Oh well, it WAS real one time, wasn't it ??? Wasn't it? Wolfsky9, 67 y/o

Thanks for sharing some very interesting reflections about a song that should have been a MUCH bigger hit in the USA than what it was. You make some good points about the song having alot of similarities to Asian pop music but I will always wonder how the song was discovered in Hong Kong. I guess some dj discovered it and played it and the song caught on from there. Whatever the case, Robin Ward should always be remembered for more than being a one-hit wonder with "Wonderful Summer".

It was a big hit in Hong Kong because Jackie's high harmonics coupled with the song arrangements are similar to Asian pop music.

Should have been a big hit.

Wolfsky, Just reading a few of your comments and they mirror my thoughts exactly. Born in '48 too, and wish that just for a moment, I could go back to that better time when these great songs were being made, never knew then that they would be gone and how much I would miss them.

How can this WONDERFUL song be such a BIG hit in Hong Kong (of all places!) and NOT in the USA?? What a shame......but thanks again for posting this gem in excellent audio clarity!

Thanks so much for posting this WONDERFUL song in fine audio clarity! Too bad this song came out when the Beatles and the British Invasion were just becoming VERY popular on the radio and dominated the songs we heard. So many of the girl-group songs then disappeared and that was sad. If this song had come out in 1963 or a year earlier. it may have received more airplay and done better on the charts. Though Robin's "Wonderful Summer" is her best song, I also love this tune and "Dream Boy".

You said so much in so few words and thanks for sharing how I also feel. I was 11 when this song came out and it sounds as lovely and fresh today as it did almost 50 years ago. Just goes to show how timeless these oldies are, esp. the girl group sound of the early 1960's. Robin had such a luscious voice that today exudes nostalgia with this song and my other favorites by her: "Wonderful Summer" and "Dream Boy". She also does great background vocals on Shelby Flint's "Lonely Cinderella".
