Interesting part of rural blues history, rather early recording from Robert Pete Williams.

I hope owners of the rights want to see this as an honor to this artist who plays with just wonderful blues-feeling!

And same goes to these random photos, which I have found from net.

My hope is that everyone can just listen to this fine musician. Enjoy!

Its so nice, that you can still buy these recordings on CD, mine is an old vinyl album!

Back in 1970 I was determined to go to Rosedale, LA to meet with RPW. I received a kind invitation from Mrs Wms, as RPW never learned to write? I never made the trip from Chicago area, but just fell in love with this guy. Still listening 45 years later. Thanks for posting! Douglas guitar, viola, piano etc

Robert Pete Williams (born 1914), author of Grown So Ugly. Covered in 1967 by Captain Beefhart and his Magic Band (arrangement by Ry Cooder). This cover was then recovered by The Black Keys in 2004. You can like best whichever version you want but Robert still did it first and just him and a guitar.
