Back in the early 70's a new radio station popped up for awhile called "album rock". I heard "River" one time and one time only. Loved the song so much I bought my first Gentle Giant record album "Octopus". I have loved them ever since!

Gentle Giant, Acquiring the Taste, Three Friends and Octopus are my masterpieces ever! So love this awesome band. For wich reason we didn't have any live recording with Phil Shulman? These concerts deserves to be recorded by professionnal tapers not just fan recorders. As the same for the first days of this awesome band, no one think this was a great idea to recorded a new band for example at the Portsmouth 1970 DayPop Festival? I'm so angry saw how many Pink Floyd recordings of their early days are available and how many of Giant early years are available. That's unacceptable!

This was my favourite British band of the 70s. Heard of them when I was travelling through UK and Europe in 1971. I had all their albums when I got back to Canada. Saw them twice at Massey Hall in Toronto--the best live act ever. The Shulman brothers were simply the best musicians I ever heard or saw! Thanks!
