Great what a song. This version better than on CFR with the Whites. I imagine the fiddle is Bobby Hicks, maybe Ray Fleck on tele (sounds like him) pedal steel maybe Weldon Myrick (R.I.P). Ricky so much talent. mostite60

This was popular by someone else (I can't remember who) back in the mid to late 60's. My parents were getting a divorce at that time. This was one of my dad's favorite songs at that time. Always makes me a bit misty eyed.

You say I've done you wrong,I've wrecked the happy home. We've tried so many times, we both know when.Let's take another chance,To renew an old romance. And if we love each other, time will tell.Oh, I know, dear, what it means to live without you. These lonely nights are drivin' me insane. But before I'll hurt the one I love so dearly,When people ask what's wrong, I'll take the blame.Instrumental break.Well, I know, dear, what it means to live without you. These lonely nights are drivin' me insane. But before I'll hurt the one I love so dearly,When people ask what's wrong, I'll take the blame.Yes, when people ask what's wrong, I'll take the blame.

RICKY, THERE ARE VERY FEW OF YOU LEFT IN THIS WORLD. MY HUSBAND IS ONE OF THEM, YOU. HE IS MY LIFE. I CAN IMAGINE MINE WITHOUT HIM.

Another performer as fantastic as Ricky needs to come along & save country music. I don't even listen to country anymore because it isn't real country music. I quit listening in the 70s because it wasn't real country. Then Ricky stepped in & turned it country again.

There is an earlier recording of this on Sugar Hill that has Buddy Emmons on steel, Albert Lee on guitar, and Emmylou Harris singing harmony.
