Remember Albert when he was in a UK country band called Country Fever playing pubs and clubs here in the UK, glad so many American artists appreciate him.

That guitar Albert is playing has the best sound of any guitar he's ever played. Don't know if it's a Telecaster, or one made up to look like it. B bender and all. Great, funky, tone. Of course Lee's playing is right on top too.

@lordarthmaul Also, I just dug out my copy of Kentucky Thunder, and it lists the credits for lead guitar on Hummingbird as Albert Lee.

@BluegrassLibrary It depends on which "version" you are talking about. The "original" version was released by Restless Heart, and the guitarist was Greg Jennings (He also wrote the song). It was released as the b-side to the single "Why Does it Have To Be".

@TheSkaggs54 I doubt it will happen now since Ricky is bluegrass and not country

Just unbelievable playing from the whole band, especially Albert. BluegrassLibrary, thanks for posting all of these AMS clips. At one time I had many of them on VHS, but those are gone. You've brought them back from the dead, for which I'm grateful.

@jazzmaster1948 Actually according to the liner notes on the Kentucky Thunder album Albert Lee was the lead guitarist on this song.

@cactusjim1By the time Kentucky Thunder came out Ray Flacke was gone for about 5 or 6 years the last Album he played on was Don't Cheat In Our Hometown which was 1983 Ray Flacke was gone before Live In London which was 1985 Kentucky Thunder was 1989 so Ray Flacke was long gone by this 89 he was playing with Kathy Mettea so to sum this up to everyone he was gone by this time.

Notice how much better the Telecaster sounds than his Ernie Ball, "Albert Lee" model?
