My sweetie that passed loved his sunburst fender strat, and here my friend sent you my way with a broken-in fender strat that shows you loved it and played it over and over. So wonderful to put in my folder of fave' vids where I pull it up and gaze at its loved-state. Love you Mr.. Thompson which is My sweeties grammpas name, gives me such a warm connection. :-) Peace and LOVE

A guy who jammed with Hendrix, influenced Knopler's style entirely... I can understand the Buddy Holly thing.

The host is speaking with one of the truly unique players of the era but he asks Richard to mimic other players. How embarrassing.

Yes and no. He plays a green Ferrington on stage, which is his new love. He plays another strat too, but this guitar, THE GUITAR, is, I guess you could say, "retired". I asked Richard if he would ever consider letting Fender make a Richard Thompson model, and he said no because he doesn't use his anymore and it is a "stock" model with no mods. My thoughts were "Fender will put your name on it and sell it no matter what." Funny, it's hard to find 50 strats. Squier is making a cool 50's model.

Knows his shit. I love how uncomfortable he naturally is in a 'staged' situation and how often he wants to laugh at the bone questions. Lovely man. Living legend.
