The words of a poet...the voice of an Angel! In my opinion the best love song ever written! So poignant, so understated yet every single line has a relevance to anyone who has ever loved....then lost. Ah well..... better not dwell too long as the house is in a bad way and it's almost dark!!!!!!

Richard is an incredible guitarist but his phrasing is equaled by Linda's incredible vocals. Sandy Denny could have done no better. Truly a song for the ages.

I don't have adequate words to explain how much I love this song, Dimming of the Day. Your rendition is so perfect. I just watched Ya Ya Sisterhood this morning, for the 5th or 6th time & heard it in the soundtrack. (I've owned the dvd for years & today I really heard it) I've known Bonnie Raitt's version & loved it but this.... THIS version, man, it tugs at things in my soul that I don't know how to explain. Thank you for this.

It's sad and poetry and love. But it gives me peace and all I think is of the man I'm married to and how much I need him when he's sitting beside me. I've had the album longer than the husband and even then I just thought, that's how I want love. I will have nothing less than that depth. But I will never let a parting occur unless it's actual death. That hurts as well. I prefer my joyful perception.

Nice song from the master.

This version and the one by Kirsten Braaten Berg, a Norwegian singer, are the absolute best.

First time hearing the original. I feel in love with this song when Bonnie Raitt covered it. David Gilmour's cover is sensational. Just a sad and beautiful song.

I think Dimming of the Day and Dargai should be played together. I don't know well, but I feel these two are related...

I would as soon as forget her, but that thought would afflict more than all remembering.

The best version I've heard - Linda gets the most out of the poetry and the instrumentation is never in the way - but the epilogue could be shortened or dropped. Bonnie and Alison have nice takes but Alison's is too slow and Bonnie's is fine but not up to Linda's delicacy, Love the song!
