Rich Mullins' The Color Green music video. My absolute favorite song and music video by the late Rich Mullins.

I used this song in a presentation in my Humanities class around 2004, and the general reaction from the class was a collective "wow," "whoa," and stunned silence -- Which is the reaction I expected.

This is a pretty heavy song and video to digest the first time around, and in a class that was mostly full of non-Believers, the stunned silence gave me an unusual sense of satisfaction :)

This music video is from the "Rich Mullins: Pursuit of a Legacy" DVD (© 2003, Reunion Records)

Enjoy, and feel free to comment.

(PS - Kudos to Sony Music Entertainment & Reunion Records for realizing the benefits of free advertising via YT, and not asking for this video to be taken down or maimed. I wish others would loosen up and follow suit.)

(PPS [Aug-26, 2012]: Thanks to YT for finally revising their copyright system and allowing strikes to be removed by removing videos that violate said system (Among other things), which allows me to make most of my videos public again.)

I haven't heard this song in about 10 years and it moved me just as much today as it did the 1st time I've heard it. I love it ...it moves me in ways words just cannot describe. PLEASE listen to this song...when you have 5 minutes without interruptions or distractions. Let the music transform you!!!!! This song brings a calm and well as lifts your spirit to the highest heights. What an amazing man and performer...and an instrument of God! I'm so blessed to have seen him in concert :)

wow, this song could dovetail with a couple of songs on "Dogs of War" or even "Division Bell" (Pink Floyd) That group really makes you think about life, another one for introspective music is Beck.

To the below commenter, don't give up the faith. Rich is far more jalive and singing music that is so far more beautiful than anything that we can even comprehend or even lisp with these weak lumps of flesh in our mouths. Jesus Christ is the only thing to hold on and trust on this side of eternity and He died for us all, including you, so that we may share eternity with Him and sing beautiful music. He is our advocate to the Father and pleads for you, if you will only become like the Prodigal Son and come to your senses, that the best that this world can provide is pig slop and your Heavenly Fathet's least of servants have it far better, if not in this life certainly in the next, than all of the kings and rich people of this world. Go to Him. He is certainly standing on the front porch anxiously looking for you to come home.

THanks for posting this song. I never heard it until now. Loved the movie "Ragamuffin" and have been going through all his videos since. Wow... the way God used Rich was incredible. I am sorry about the lady who could've brought him happiness with children of his own but God had plans to use Him and apparently her decision helped him go into the path God laid out for him.

I was working on the prospects of a music career, much inspired by Rich. When he died it was like a punch in the gut.... The only other music I've ever listened to that makes me feel in such a way is Simon and Garfunkel, and their individual work.... He was amazing. His writing was amazing....I'm pretty much agnostic now.... but his music makes me think.... a lot....

When did he do the video? What year? Walking through a graveyard, the shades of black and white, the somberness of his expression? It's almost like foreboding what was going to happen. I met him once in Anaheim at a confer in a church. His smile was like sunshine and he had the prophetic type's distant expression - always lost in that other dimension with God. We all miss him so.

It looks like you have the whole project--Pursuit of a Legacy. I'm wondering: is there any other content on the project, besides the music videos?

i was born in 1995 2 years later he died. My dad always played him as long as i could remember. As a 5 year old his music touched me with insane emotion. I would burst in to tears, and at 5 you don't feel music the same way. It's beautiful and nostalgic.
