i am an orthodox.... and Kyrie Elehson is the way to pray.. This is the wish that Lord gave to the monasteries and Saint Grigorios Palamas and saint Symeon the New Theologist wrote about this wish because it was the need to write about it.... some people blamed Grigorio because they didn't understood the meaning of this phrase and they said that this saint is heretic.. and in his texts explains the meanig of that pray. it's not just a phrase. it has a long history and many adventures. for orthodox world is the pray of the heart. it's soon and it says everything. just 2 words. for an orthodox. Kyrie elehson is his/her breath is his/her life. It's very strong pray.... and the complete wish is Kyrie Ihsou Christe elehson me ton amartolo which means Lord Jesous Christ give mercy to me the sinner. and this is the pray of the heart.... so for an orthox when does everything sais this pray. and if he/she says this with his/her mouth it's not correct. you have to say it from your heart to be everything you do blessed. I said all these things because if I didn't live the strength of praying in my life i will not say anything of these things.... in orthodox world fistly you live God and then you are a theologist.

Sad to see the battle of ignorance in the comments and presence of Tolkkis creationAtheism has nothing wrong with it, Religion is simply Gullible and very poorly understoodTolkki not believing in God has no effect on the creative mind.

Exactly, and those people focus on lyrics based on fantasy and not on the Christian mythos/dogma. Then why is Tolkki dedicating a song to it? I'm asking if he's a Christian but so far there's no consensus regarding it. In any case, he makes good music, let's leave it at that.

Well I understand alot of subgenres in the world of metal focus on anti-christian themes, but then again there are neutral bands who aren't christians but don't really go on about it, and just focus their lyrics on fantasy and fairytales, or any non religious subject.

I'm talking about secular metal not being very forgiving. Nobody's gonna speak openly about it but there's a ton of guys who just keep their faith to themselves for various reasons. Ralph Santolla of Deicide's received a lot of hate mail due to his Christianity.

Not sure what you're trying to say though, but there's white metal (if you've ever heared about it) which are Christian bands. Take ''Theocracy'' for example, or ''Golden Resurrection'' which are very well known Christian bands.

Metal isn't really all that forgiving when it comes to Christianity, you know...

He isn't a Christian, because Christians usually aren't afraid to confess their faith to the world (neither should they be afraid to do so in the first place). And I haven't ever heared Timo saying that he is a Christian or anything like that.

Hey man...being spiritual or believing in God and accepting Christ are all things that don't have to necessary be connected to religion or religious denominations. Nobody said Timo had to be a part of some church to be recognised as a believer. I still don't think he doesn't believe in God, as you said.

yes, Tolkki music has always been about spreading positive messages (ex with "Lead Us Into The Light" from the Twilight Time album, or "We Are The Future" from Dreamspace) (positive messages which is totally in contradiction with his personal behavior against his previous band mates or fans, but that's another story) Still I don't think it's about a particular religious. In his book he mentions something about spiritual believes. I think lately he has been quite close to Buddah and Kabal believe

I find this hard to believe thanks to this song and his work on his Avalon, if you read through some of the lyrics you can see some positive messages. That and he wears a big ass cross in the pictures in the booklet. Also Rob Rock collaborated on most of the songs, what is he doing with Christian metal's biggest voice since Michael Sweet?

Like most Finns, Timo Tolkki was raised in evangelical lutheran church but he doesn't belong to the church (anymore) nor even believe in god.

I like the choir singing the Lord's Prayer very much.

Because that's so touching. The guitar solo, just like you cry so hard from the bottom of your heart, releasing all your anguish, pain and fear.
