this anime really is a special one, the first time I saw this anime it stole my heart from beginning to end honestly like I loved it so much that this was the reason why I play guitar in the first place

What does this song remind me of? Well...1) 0:20 She says "futari no akai ito", and that scene when Reira explains the "Akai Ito" (or red thread) idea to Shin comes to me. She knows all her previous love songs were stupid and he helps her write this one. 2) All of the lyrics makes me think of Reira and Shin's relationship, even though it was doomed to fail because of the age problem, it was probably the most mature and healthy one in all of the manga. They helped each other and supported each other more than any other couple in the story.3) Sometimes when I'm listening, I remember one specific scene when this song was playing instrumentally in the soundtrack. It played in many scene but there was this one scene when Yasu decides he still can't help Reira because he wasn't and still isn't the one to get her out of her obsession with Takumi, so he calls Takumi and gives him the key to his apartment where Reira is staying. Yasu says "Reira is going to hate me for this" and Takumi replies "Don't. I'm the hated person in this story". This was right after Hachi breaks up with everyone to go to Takumi. It was a great insight into both Yasu and Takumi, two character that are not easily understood.4) I think of how it became the no.1 hit of 2001 at the time. That scene in the future timeline when Shin and Yasu are in the car (and Shin is driving!), discussing the fact that Nana is still alive, and then suddenly the radio plays this song "The number one hit of 2001, [TRUST] (which is what it's called in the manga)". The moment it starts playing, both Shin and Yasu are hit with all the unspoken pains of the past. And Yazawa masterfully shows it in just the expression on their faces5) But most importantly, when 2:50 hits in and the solo guitar starts, this I believe is when Reira said to herself tearfully "Yes after all Ren is a genius"....This is where I sometimes tear up as well when I'm listening. Ren just comes dazzlingly, Ren and how he was the only one who saved Reira from Takumi, not through love but through his kind friendship. Ren Ren Ren, playing this part over and over again.

You know what? This manga just broke my heart. I don't really know why but when I'm listening to Nana's songs, I feel like the saddest girl of the world. This story, these characters... I can't even describe it, it's speechless, such an amazing manga, really

This song reminds me of all the scenes in NANA. I like the character of nana as she is very critical and complicated character, but she is real.From nana's perception, she always admires NANA who only love one person at a time as she knows she could not be loyal and takes things seriously as NANA does. nana is bounded to all the decisons she made. She tried to hide her dark side of herself from NANA and nobu.nana is never a perfect girl as nobu imagined.nana is selfish! She eventually chose Takumi probably bez Takumi promised a home she dreams of and accepts her falut in that moment. The decision is nothing to do with love, but just a decision she makes for the best of herself.
