Already a goddess at the age of 14 circa 1973. I wonder if this would have been recognized by the industry if introduced for the first time in todays climate

Just goes to show how high her standards are, OK it's got resonances of other songs of hers, but no other artist on earth would have let this go.

Well that made me cry all right. How can that not have made it onto an album? Contender for my favourite song ever.

If she's not a genius, I don't know who ever has been.

To me - Kate and her piano are EVERYTHING! She doesnt need anything else whatsoever! I would love for her to create an album whether it was old material or not with just her and her piano. She really does not need a huge backing track at all. I love the simplicity of the words, lyrics, melody and sound. This is for me her BEST song ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

@ProfessionalCynic - I agree there must be a way that we could use the internet to start a campaign to get her to just do a simple piano and voice recording of all of these wonderful tracks and release them for fans. I can understand as an artist she may feel they do not live up to her later work but A. She would be wrong. B. Everyone would know this was the work of a 15 year old starting to find herself as an artist and would take that into consideration.

Kate REALLY REALLY REALLY ought to re-record this. It's astonishing. When I think what I was doing when I was fourteen...well, lol. Nothing like THIS. It's a crime that this brilliant song is so obscure. It deserves a revival.

Angelic voice, indeed, and Gorgeous to no end! Citing influences is pointless. Kate is in a category all her own

Too many female artists have big, booming soul voices. They just want to show how loud they are. No emotin. Thwy could learn a thing or two from Kate, the greatest female artist of all time.

Wow! How can a girl of 15 years write such a beauty song and sing it in that way? I don´t know the answer but I think she is not from this world.

i once said to a forum that we, Kate's fans, are the beggers of the music industry. This song is a masterpiece in any possible way of thinking. It's such a sad thing she gives as almost nothing the last 2 decades.

Imagine. 1973, and Glam Rock is at its height. The world is full of wannabe Gothic superstars singing about how their minds are exploding, and making a lot of noise about it. Along comes this fragile 15-year-old girl singing about...a bird in a pond. "Oo-hoo-hoo, a-hoo-hoo, oo-hoo-hoo, a-hoo-hoo..." Sublime.

Outstanding for a demo. If the sound quality were better it could easily be an album track.
