I wish there was an actual video footage of this whole album’s performance! I believe Gary Brooker said he later regretted that t was not recorded with video.

Oh, yes, magnificent. There's something about rock voices with an orchestral backing I just love. "JC Superstar" has the same thrill....

In the beginning, why do I think of the "Chariot" on the 1960s American TV show "Lost in Space?" Listen closely.

Lame as this may sound, this brilliant version stirs my soul. I have been listening to it for nigh on 40 years snd I still get goosebumps.

I think the real standout is BJ Wilson's incredible drumming. Even without the orchestra, Wilson's performance would have ensured its success.

The late Dave Ball took the incredible lead guitar solo on this version of "Conquistador." BJ Wilson being the fantastic drummer he was -- had mirrors set up so he could SEE the conductor behind him! Drums are not to be believed on this track. Just when you think you could be a great rock drummer there is a BJ Wilson to compete with.

I read that the Edmonton Symphony was only give the sheet music shortly before the performance and never had a chance to practice. If so, the initial performance was even more amazing that it already was.
