The only complaint is that PH doesn't even try to properly accent the title of a song about Latino (and world)history. "ConKWEEEEStador?" Please. That said, it's one of the better songs that the human race will ever know.

Tell the truth. Who didn't rush to the library in 1972 to learn all you could about Conquistadors?

Well skirts 365 you are quite the theologian and historian. I'm impressed. The Spaniards founded most of Florida. Its just a great song. Don't overthink it..

And in the end, The British Empire won, starting with the ruination in AD 1588 of the Spanish Armada in the English Channel. It also means the Catholic empire took distant second place to The Anglican Church of England, led by such globe straddling titans as The Duke of Westminster, heavy holder of skyscrapers and upscale real estate in 70 cities worldwide, whose wife descends from Russian royalty representing $300 billion fortune. The Duke of Westminster spent $500 million in 2012 refurbishing one of his dozens of multi-billion dollar mansions.

I was lucky to see them open up for Jethro Tull at Great Woods Mass in the mid 90's, they were amazing! So was Tull

When I hear this it's probably not coincidental I imagine soldiers slogging through rice paddies, "slicks" thundering by overhead as "fast movers" drop napalm on the jungle.

Know who played guitar on this album? The one and only Robin Trower but his brilliance as a guitarist was overshadowed by the heavy Hammond

Anti war song, underlining the futility and pointlessness! Not specific to the Spanish or indeed any one nation! To see properly you need vision not just eyes!

I first heard this song on a pam am flight from new York to California in 1972.  I was 10 and my mom gave me headphones to listen to the music.  This song became my favorite and still is!!!

Nice visuals to a great song, Still, there's an error in the lyrics: Where they start "As the gloom begins to fall," what follows is actually "I see there is no AUREOLE", not "only all"; the former is the golden halo surrounding the human head, indicating holiness or sainthood. This is a common mistake.
