Okay, this is how I interpret "Twenty Years": This theme is connoted with the ephemerality of life (which "will pass" and "end too fast"), which underlies the relentless, inexorable notion that we all walk towards the end of something, life (which is all) in this case, and with the fact that we tend to focus more in that end to come than on trying to seek the real sense of our lives (if there's one, whatsoever; well, I (like to) believe so), contemplating everything that goes beyond what our senses can apprehend, in other words, that "more than meets the eye" this poem, plenty of metaphors, talks about. Despite of being, perhaps, a blessing not to know the future and the real "truth" behind it, it's hard to deal with that vacuum, due to our lack of faith, but that's precisely "the best", "the gift", and also "the test" and "the trick in it". I think, at the end, this song addresses God, directly: " You're the truth not I". There's so much that could still be said!
