Industrial and Submit blew my head off when I got them 20 years or so ago. Then a guy I knew who became a promoter brought the band to Australia late 90s. I didn't realise how much they'd changed. I'd wanted to stand in front of the PA and be slowly dismantled... but they were all upbeat and wanted me to jump up and down.

to be honest, they sounded a lot more musically diverse than Godflesh. I can actually hear the guitar's "melodies" easier on Submit than, say, Streetcleaner

@smegmalfog -I met the Clayden bros. briefly after the show too...dudes looked like tough street raised Brits-JS still had his dreadlocks, never would think they'd start doing break-beat/metal...they were actually cool guys though, not mean or dickish at all. Oh well...at least they did make some kick-ass music at one point.

@smegmalfog -too late...I saw the same mtv spring break show...was like, 'no man, that ain't pitchshifter...that has to be another band, right?' Nope-it was pitchshifter meets aphex twin and prodigy...never could get into that era of pitchshifter-thy should have stayed true to their original sound and progressed it.

@vivelecorn I know now it's a year after you posted this but I just want to wish you good luck and spread the word.I can't believe how Pitchshifter sold out.You can't really figure something else out since you turn your voice into a teen boob after what you've done in the first LP's.Godflesh for example has always sounded different on each record ;a lot more inspireing and experimental but yet maintained their style and approach
