Pilot - Sky Blue

From The Album Of The Same Name - 1974

A beautiful ballad that makes you wonder

Starlight, shining bright

Make my world all right tonight

 Shine through, sky blue

 Guide me through my life

 Sunray, won't you stay

Guide me through my lonely day

 Shine through, sky blue

 Brighten up my life

* Take me higher, never tire

Like the marrow in your boneio

See the sun come through the window

But you never get enough to know

No, you never get enough to know

No, you never get enough to know

 Shine through, sky blue

 Brighten up my life

 Repeat *

 Oh, oh, oh

"Take me higher" means He just wants to experience things with her. You know when people have drugs they used to say "getting high", so new experience. Marrow in your bone is what makes you, it is part of you.

What I now for sure is that Ian didn't play on Magic. David Paton says so in a video interview on YouTube.

Bairnson playes in this album. He was credited as lead guitar. The refrain of Blue Blue Sky, part 2 and Sky Blue er quite similar. Or, at least, this is what I feel after listening to both songs. Ciao Fer

Hmm, you sure? Barnson didn't play on this album and Blue Blue Sky doesn't sound much like this.

Magic apart, (though I really like "Just a Smile"), everyone I knew said this was the fav track from "The Album of the Same Name" - pretty hard to argue though - it is a great track.

What can you say about this song. it starts out as a pop song and the end it matures into an amazing guitar rift with string accompaniment. When l first heard it l thought wow. Now all these years later it still sounds very special

Fernandocatan - Alan Parsons On Air is one of my favourite albums of all time. Fancy this song being reused on it!

I have this album in my collection, and when you compare 'Sky Blue' to all the other commercial 'poppy' tracks on the album, it really makes you wonder just how many other gems were written by Ian Bairnson which never saw the light of day. A great piece of music, even after 35 years.

Incredibly beautiful song, Ian Bairnson recreated that in 1996 with the song Blue Blue Sky (included in the album On Air credited to Alan Parsons).
