JANUARY najväčši hit skupiny PILOT, ktorý bol v UK rebríčku desať týždňov od 18. januara 1975 a ako 365. hit skončil na vrchole rebríčka v UK 3. februara 1975 a zotrval tam tri týždne Dňa 22. februara ho na prvom mieste nahradila pieseň Make Me Smile skupiny Steve Harley and Cockney Rebel. Autorom piesne bol David Paton. Na b strane singlu bola pieseň Never Give Up. V USA skončila na 87.m. Po piesni Magic z novembra 1974 na 11.m. bola druhým hitom skupiny v UK rebríčku. V Austrálii bola na vrchole rebríčka 8 týždňov.Skupinu PILOT vytvorili v roku 1973 v Edinburgu bývalí členovia prvej zostavy Bay City Rollers Paton a Lyall. Pôvodné trio po nahraní debutového albumu Pilot, ktorý v USA bol v rebríčku 14 týždňov od 31. mája 1975 a skončil na 82.m. doplnil Ian Bairnson. Škotsku pop rockovú skupinu tvorili David PATON nar. 29. oktobra 1949 v Edinburgu spev, basová gitara, Billy LYALL nar. 26. marca 1953 v Edinburgu klavesy, flauta, spev, Stuart TOSH vl.m. Stewart Macintosh nar. 26. septembra 1951 v Aberdeene bicie a Ian BAIRNSON nar. 3. augusta 1953 v Lerwicku na Shetlandských ostrovoch gitara .Debutová pieseň Magic, ktorej autormi boli Paton a Layall skončila v USA ako TOP 5 hit a získala za milion predaných kusov od RIAA zlatú platňu. V týždni od 12. júla 1975 skončila na 5.m. kým na vrchole bola Love Will Keep Us Together dvojice The Captain and Tennille. V UK mali v rebríčku ešte v roku 1975 dve piesne a to Call Me Round na 34.m. a Just A Smile na 31.m. Album SECOND FLIGHT bol týždeň od 31. mája 1975 na 48.m. V roku 1976 sa pôvodná trojica hudobnikov skupiny Pilot stala súčasťou skupiny Alan Parsons Project. Tosh sa v lete 1977 stal členom skupiny 10cc na túrne spoločne s novými hráčmi Fennom gitara a O´Mailleym klavesy .Paton v roku 1993 hral v skupine Camel. Žiaľ Billy Layall zomrel 1. decembra 1989 na ochorenie spojené s AIDS.

So this song was N0:1 in Australia for 13 weeks.Abba was N0:1 for about 20 weeks with Fernando. So both Groups ruled the charts here in 1975 and Pilot never came to Australia. What a shame.
