Pilot performing 'Hold Me' live at BBC 1975 radio concert programme, introduced by Alan Black.

This song was never officially released on any of their albums or as a single. Only used for gigs. At first I didn't think much of it, but it has grown on me through multiple listenings of the whole live show (how I think these songs in particular should be listened to) I have come to appreciate the musicianship in this song, and all the others.

"Tell me something gooood" "Gottaa get it oowwnnn"

I think this tune evolved to "Hold On", the first track of the Morin Heights album. Very similar beat and structure. Even so, it´s still a great tune and shows clearly a very good band in action and in great shape. Not much to say about Ian´s guitar solo (outstanding as always!), but I liked Billy´s keyboards enhanced by the wah pedal! Brilliant!

Yes Nigel, quite more jazz/funk/fusion than their usual, that's why I love the track. Interesting how the basic groove is just guitar and the others follow Ian. Great solo and dynamics. Actually it was included as bonus track in "Blue Yonder" (the remake of "Two's a crowd")

@askmass Yes, much jazz/funk here, and the intro build-up with the funky charleston reminds me quite much of APP's "I wouldn't want to be like you"

This is one RARE GEM! So much of what came before - a tribute to true American Jazz and Blues, The Delta, and an advanced Philly Funk (Paton proved himself a world class player right here, but it's Ian's composition and amazing solo, underpinned by Stuart Tosh and the departed Billy Lyall together that make it magic)... Listen for clues of what was yet to come at the top of the Top 40, and in the Alan Parson's Project. It's all right here, in raw and glorious form. PILOT. Bravo!
