No emotion at all..Chris Bell wrote this from such a painful place and was charged with emotion where he is almost pleading...you knew it was real. I can't fathom the conversation that took place where a record exec thought this was any good and should be released. Then again, recording industry has been a list cause for a very long time. A movie stars vanity project maybe or a movie star being given horrible career advice. I'd like to think Pete Yorn had a bad idea and talked her into this after her saying no numerous times. Then again, this is a great example of what happens when people have too many yes people...you get horrible hit like this. Say what you want about Simon Cowell but at least he gives it to people straight...

When Chris recorded the song during the 70's it was sort of a reflection of his emotional state. You can tell that the writing came from a painful place. This cover is not helping to expand on the song in any meaningful way.
