How on earth could this NOT have been a hit ... both Country and Pop? How is it Patsy had NO hit records from mid-1957 to 1961 ("I Fall to Pieces")?

Makes no sense!

The Jordanaires' voices are on more recordings by a huge margin than any other vocal group in history . Estimates are around 36,000 minimum . And recently it was reported that Jordanaires base singer Ray Walker , is the most recorded voice in the history of recording . You can't listen to vintage country or rock n roll without hearing their voices on nearly every other song . Whether it's Patsy Cline ,Elvis , Ricky Nelson , Connie Francis , Jimmy Dean , Jim Reeves , Johnny Horton , Conway Twitty ,Faron Young etc. and these are just the tip of the iceberg . Truly amazing !

It all had to do with the record label she was with and the promotion (or lack of). She was fantastic.

I agree! She is the most spectacular female voice of all time! She could sing any style of music with depth and passion that draws the listener into the narrative. One of her contemporaries said that everyone hated to have Patsy cover one their songs because from then on it was a Patsy Cline song.

Yes, their backing harmonies were second to none.

Terrific recording. I am a big fan of the Jordanaires backing vocals. The smooth sound they helped create with Patsy and some of her contemporaries like Ricky Nelson, Don Gibson and, of course, Elvis make up some of my favourite recordings.

I currently live where she grew up, she's a huge source of pride out here and she was when she was alive.

Had she lived, Patsy would have been as revered as Willie Nelson is today in the land of country music. This performance is just one example why with the wonderful. backing of the Jordanaires

this song would be a hit today IF Nashville had the guts to release it.....all we hear is rock-a-billy wailing now...and lyrics with garbled words....there is nothing out there for anyone over 40 and damn sure no love ballads that we can dance to....I don't think there will ever be another voice like Patsy's...I was a high school radio DJ in central Texas and had to announce that Patsy was killed in an airplane crash ....did this on March 5,1963.then went on to play every Patsy song we had !

She died because her manager didn't know how to fly.
