"whoa, black betty (bam-A-lam)

whoa, black betty (bam-A-lam)

Black betty had a child (bam-A-lam)

The damn thing gone wild (bam-A-lam)

She said "I'm worrin' outta my mind" (bam-A-lam)

The damn thing gone blind (bam-A-lam)

I said oh black betty (bam-A-lam)

whoa, black betty (bam-BA-lam)

whoa, black betty (bam-BA-lam)

whoa, black betty (bam-BA-lam)

She really gets me high (bam-BA-lam)

You know that's no lie (bam-BA-lam)

She's so rock steady (bam-BA-lam)

She's always ready (bam-BA-lam)

whoa, black betty (bam-BA-lam)

whoa, black betty (bam-BA-lam)

Whoa, black betty (bam-BA-lam)

Whoa, black betty (bam-BA-lam)

She's from birmingham (bam-BA-lam)

Way down in alabam' (bam-BA-lam)

Well' shes shakin' that thing (bam-BA-lam)

Boy she makes me sing (bam-BA-lam)

Whoa, black betty (bam-BA-lam)

Ram Jam: Long-defunct 1 hit wonder, whose singer/guitarist (Bill Bartlett) can't even do a decent rendition of this anymore.Pat Travers: Enduring blues rocker and widely idolized guitarist for close to 40 years, who enlivens any song he covers.

the timing is ever so slightly off, which really bugs me. and the first solo, he's missing some notes to, not my favorite cover of this song.

Wow... does this bring back memories; I saw Pat 3 times: Portland, Or. 1978, large venue, 1980 small club uptown and once in 1999 at the Crossroads Bar in Yucaipa, California on a Sunday nite and only 23 people showed, great for me, I met and spoke with him and he said he didn't care about the low turnout, in fact it was rather nice and he was getting paid just the same...little guy, HUGE guitar, good for my ears...

If I am correctly informed...some of the members of RamJam were formerly with Attila, that featured a young lead vocalist named Billy Joel....
