Otis Rush

I lay awake at night can't sleep just so troubled

It's hard to keep a job, laid off and havin' double trouble

Hey, they say you can make it if you try

Yes, in this generation of millionaires, it's hard for me to keep decent clothes to wear

You laughed at me walkin' baby, when I had no place to go

Bad luck and trouble have taken me, I have got no money to show

Hey, hey, to make it you've got to try, baby, that's no lie

Yes, in this generation of millionaires, it's hard for me to keep decent clothes to wear

The essence of the Blues! Impassioned vocal & scintillating guitar! The whole mood captures the despair of heartache but is so uplifting it makes pain pleasurable! One of the truly greats who inspired all us young white boys to play the blues so bad...

O trivial sempre será suporte para o sofisticado, ou seja, seu valor não pode jamais ser desprezado!

Lester Bangs wrote that this album is "thunder and lightning, the great creaks and groans when earth ruptures and we have no ground we can call our own I am not kidding."Lyrics from YouTube:I lay awake at night can't sleep just so troubledIt's hard to keep a job, laid off and havin' double troubleHey, they say you can make it if you tryYes, in this generation of millionaires, it's hard for me to keep decent clothes to wearYou laughed at me walkin' baby, when I had no place to goBad luck and trouble have taken me, I have got no money to showHey, hey, to make it you've got to try, baby, that's no lieYes, in this generation of millionaires, it's hard for me to keep decent clothes to wear

......Eli Toscana's and Willie Dixon's ingenious use of Supernatural Resources (like the afore mentioned) Air Shaft Reverb (not) to be confused with Duke Ellington's Harlem Airshaft. though I seriously do not think it would hurt one bit!!!

.....though I can only remember reading Robert Shaw's "The World of Soul". another source would be the old Golden Gate Science Exploratorium in San Francisco. They had a tube 3 feet in diameter , by about one hundred feet long,.....the exhibit said to shout into the opening ,... then listen for the natural echo (.) it sounded very similar (!)

I do not remember the exact source... though I somewhere heard that the natural sounding reverb and echo with this recording was obtained by placing a microphone at a distant opening (or ending) of a ventilation shaft in the building of their recording studio.....I like to reveal my sources when sharing info of this nature....

produced by willie dixon but his production is totally over written by sonically inferior digital tech, any businessmen wanna come on here n exsplain why every digital reissue has multiple overdubs, purely 2 hide the inferior sonics b my guest,n keep yr inferior digital lp n 45 reissues that dont respect what the musicians intended, ill buy sonically superior original analogue vinyl instead.
