I loved the Bear and the Surf Theater and parking on PCH at Golden West or the cliffs in the sand and getting stuck and especially when the pier was wooden and watchin 30 foot waves breaking on the end of it and renting those be green rubber rafts and when you cruised up Beach blvd and never made it to the beach but to some party instead and is all a very sweet memory Bands like Eulogy,Smile, Quiot Riot, Wolfgang,The Movies, The Plimsouls what I would give to go back in that time for one month

My boyfriend and I used to go to the Golden Bear at the end of the Huntington Beach pier in the 70's. The house band was the Mystic Knights of the Oingo Boingo. There were picnic tables, pizza and beer. People don't believe me now, but it was the greatest.

I remember seeing Boingo at the Golden Bear in Huntington Beach. Anybody remember that joint? It was across the street from the HB pier (on PCH and Main) and they used to have a dirt parking lot along PCH. Now that whole area is freaking pastel and disco. What happened to HB? What happened to the whole laid back surf culture? It's all plastics, wannabees and barnies. Oh well, nothing good is meant to last forever.
