Barbara Dickson sings a well known traditional song with harmonies and lovely guitar accompaniment by Archie Fisher. I remember seeing Archie on BBC folk TV around 1960 and it's lovely to see him still playing and singing so well.

The original TV footage segues into one of Billy Connolly's inimitable little anecdotes which is included in this clip.

A wonderful documentary with a lot of coverage of Barbara's early folk club days and her subsequent rise to acting and west-end musical fame, and then her return to singing and playing folk song once more.

I do hope BBC TV airs this again or that Alba add the whole program to their Youtube Channel.

The program featured especially recorded duets with Archie Fisher, Danny Thompson, Rab Noakes, Troy Donockley and Billy Connolly. with anecdotal contributions from Ian McCalman, Willy Russell, Dave Emery, Oliver Cookson (Barbara's husband), Troy Donockley and, of course, The Big Yin himself.

A very engaging and entertaining bio-documentary of one of Britain's

most highly acclaimed female singers.
