The last video took me so long to do, that I really wanted to do a simple (yet enjoyable) cover with minimal instruments. This is my cover of Chuck Berry's song, "I'm Talking About You," which The Beatles also covered at the BBC, and live in Hamburg, I believe in 1963 and prior. The recording hasn't ever been officially released, but you can find a few different versions of them playing it on YouTube.
Anyways, this is my version. I approached this song the same way I did "Good Golly Miss Molly" a while back - totally live, first takes, nothing fancy about it. This recording is only 5 tracks total - rhythm guitar, lead guitar, bass, drums, and one vocal. Like I said, I used the first takes to get that "live" sound, mistakes and all.
Interesting notes about this song: it's a great fun screamer! The lead guitar is also really fun to play. You'll notice that the bass line is similar (actually, it's exactly the same) as The Beatles' song "I Saw Her Standing There." Paul actually copied that bass line directly from this song. It's a great riff, either way, very simple to play...just one pattern. The rhythm guitar is almost identical as well.
Oh, and one more thing...I don't mind when people ask me for chords and tabs for tricky songs, but please don't request this one, haha. :p I mean, it's literally three chords (E7, A7, and B7) - I'd say 90% of the song is basically just an E7, with a quick little blues changeup at the end, where it goes from D7, D#7, back to the E7. Anyways, it shouldn't be too hard to figure out if you want to learn it. :) The solo can be tricky, but that's why I included a full video of it!
Hope you enjoy these covers, thanks for watching!
