"Johnny B. Goode" is a rock and roll staple and has been covered more times than I can imagine. Chuck Berry is a genius and his guitar riffs influenced generations of musicians, including myself. Here's my best attempt at a cover of this song. Enjoy! FYI: The sync is a little off at times because it's very hard to edit the footage to match up with the audio exactly!

Honestly, I'm not the greatest songwriter. It's interesting how different people write songs, and I like to just try different approaches. Paul McCartney usually wrote the music and melody to his songs first...but then with "All My Loving", he penned the lyrics first, independent of the song. I really don't know, I just try to find chords that fit together. A little secret I've learned is that vocal melodies are everything...so many great songs share the same chord progressions!

Hey Nick. Got a question for ya. Got any songwriting tips? I'm thinking about doing some original materal, since I'm honestly getting sick of doing covers, lol. Got any tips? Anything will help. Thanks, man. -Scott

I don't think when Chuck wrote the song he specified how people were supposed to sing it...ask John Lennon :)

you don¤t shout when you sing "Johnny B.Goode" it¤s a fast song but it¤s not meant to be belt out - ask Chuck.

@cpamiseso Everything was taped live, especially the solo. It took me like 5 tries to get it right. I simply tuned my guitars all down half a step. There's no "audio trickery" here. Haha.

@legolas35653 the solo part on the reff isn't being taped i guess. that's why it was different
