I remember watching this live when I was 23 - Merchant and Stipe would not have played for just anyone, and this song speaks volumes. We were so sure things were really going to change - and they did. And then they regressed. Here's hoping Hillary can save us. (and I made a political comment because that's what this event was all about. Context is important, if not essential.)
