Album:So Far, So Good...So What!
Mustaine:
"This is another one of the struggles that paul had to
try mix. STWA being the first song i ever wrote once
I left Metallica, I wanted it to be heavy as hell, but
somehow we were losing the battle. Right before the
first verse comes in, you will notice the backward
cymbal hit and sound effect is missing. There are
backward cymbal hits elsewhere, so it wasn't like
he didn't know how to do it.
Paul did get a good snare sound on this record,
but Chuck just didn't play it very well. This comes
from an idea that Paul had to record the drums
separately from the cymbals. I hated the idea, but was
willing to see. I got over it because it was different,
but Chuck still hates it to this day, and he thinks he
may still have a grudge with Paul because of it."
