This lineup wasn't that bad. As much as I love this song I still think the best lineup was Dave Mustaine, Dave Ellefson, Marty Friedman, and Nick Menza. Youthanasia and Countdown To Extinction are my favorite albums and Rust In Peace was pretty good as well.

Not sure if youre talking about now or in 2001, but when Shawn joined the band he had barely played in front of audiences at all, so it took him some time to adapt, and also, he needed time to learn the songs and how to work with the band, as he had mostly been doing a quite casual and relaxed career untill he joined the band.

Everything any Megadeth drummer has done is better than what Shawn does. Shawn is very mediocre, he misses simple beats and doesn't learn the songs properly. On top of that he lacks a lot of energy. Just watch his Devil's Island, absolutely horrible.

Pitrelli didn't have any drinking problems. He was in the band when they broke up in 2002, and when they reformed in 2005 Dave tried to get Friedman in again, and when he declined he simply got Glen Drover instead. Dave also said that Pitrelli was nothing more than decent and didn't really fit the style Dave was going for.

From what I understand, Pitrelli was kicked out because he was weird and always drunk. They had no issues with him as a guitarist. I think him and Chris Broderick are similar. Plays the solo perfectly, but seems a little mechanical.

i agree with you pal..Jimmy D is a better drummer than Shawn drover. Jimmy's double bass drumming is so much superior than shawn.

The Al Pitrelli hate sucks, he is a solid guitar player, I saw this line-up live and they played everything from Crush em to the Conjuring to Mechanix to Paranoid and they were flawless, Pitrelli played every solo note-for-note and was quite impressive
