Okay, everyone. You're all going to think this is nuts but.. I've been listening to this song for a while always wondering what it's exactly about. Well, it occurred to me while driving listening to this song when I started thinking about my cat. (Strange, I know.) And Hope Sandoval happens to love cats as you can tell on the new album cover. Turns out, I'm thinking the album cover is the hint to this certain song. I seriously think this song is about a cat of hers that she's singing from the cat's perspective. Who's trying to get a bird in a tree. And Hope is witnessing it either telling the cat to leave the bird alone. Or just witnessing and see's the cat can't get to the bird. So..when the cat gets annoyed... it lays itself down. Just my like cat does after I scold him. He'll lay himself down. Weird, I know but... Tell me what you all think..

Actually for the first minute of the song its Dmajor to Aminor to Cmajor back to Dmajor (pattern 1). Then the next pattern, which starts around 1:00 is Dmajor to Cmajor to Gmajor to Dmajor again (pattern 2). Then it goes back to the first pattern at 1:38. Then at 2:20 is the Cmajor of the second pattern. Pattern two continues until 3:29 when the outro sequence begins If you comment back about this I will figure out the outro sequence for you
