Terrific Canadian band! I saw them open for Rush in 1981 at the Chicago Amphitheater. Kim Mitchell is great...

Killer song. Heartfelt, evocative vocal, holed up somewhere in the mountains of Canada drinking your blues away....Blue River Liquor Shine makes the hair on the back of my neck stand up.....

Killer chorus so good that I can still remember where I was the 1st time I heard it (music/ time travel!) and an absolutely perfect Kim guitar solo.Perhaps his swan song.

I live in FL too - used to live in NW PA in early 80's and listened to Toronto radio (Q107 & CHUM FM) loved Max Webster / Kim Mitchell ever since

Live in Florida too and I must be one of those three people that know about Max Webster and Kim Mitchell's solo career. A damn shame that they aren't more popular in the states.

I was given a copy of this album because i was a huge RUSH head...my friend told me to listen to BATTLESCAR...I couldn't stop listening to the album. I have since bought all of Kims stuff including the solo...love it. I live in Florida. I could be one of 3 people in my state to know who he is (exempt for all the Canadians that come here on vacay!) Whenever I meet someone from Canada we talk about music and Max Wester comes up...they are always surprised that I know the music. Great stuff!

I Bought This Album When It First Came Out, One Of The Few Copies That Made It To Northern California At The Time. Read About Them In The April Issue Of Guitar Player Magazine With Alex Lifeson On The Cover. He Mentioned Kim Mitchell Had Lent Him A Rosewood Fretboard Stratocaster, And He Was In A Band Called Max Webster. From Then On I Tried To Find Anything Related To The Mighty Max Machine! I'm Certainly Glad I Did...

You might have seen the 45 edited version of this song on here too. Dude had a whole collection of Canadian singles, many long forgotten, on YT. Either he closed up shop or YT did. Anyway thx for all your efforts on this site. Great song, probably my favourite Max album.

How in the hell did these guys get by me. It's April 12th,2012. I heard them today on Sirius..., why they didn't get a record deal in the states is beyond me. These guy are awesome.., they had the support of Geddy Lee and Rush, but still didn't get a break in the states.

Ah ha....My album used to have a sound etched into the vinyl at the beginning too. Probably from being played way too much and where the needle dropped. Also had the 'vacuum-mouthed' character from record sleeve notes sand blasted onto corner of my driver's window. Cruisin' to the max.
