These poor little girls with so much talent got so ripped off by everyone. First their producer then their record company then by a fake group touring the country claiming to be them. Mary Weiss is the only surviving member now and I'm so glad she has found a lot of peace in her life. Way before Madonna, Joan Jet, Lady Gaga, Sinead O'Connor or Miley Cyrus, the Shangri - Las were the original rebels.

Those days were so wide-open especially if you were a kid from NYC. It's a shame she left the music business but who knows? You can have a lot of talent and still not make any money and end up a drug addict or dead.
