Marty Robbins, was a master story teller. I like Utah Carol, and Little Joe The Wrangler. Great campfire ballads.

my dad was kind enough to teach me about this type of country music, I have passed it down to my kids and my grand kids for some reason kids that listen to this music grow up and become decent citizens

Anyone know who the Columbia Record Executive was who told Marty he didn't have the voice to sing cowboy songs? This song is featured in a Johnny Knoxville movie called Daltry Calhoun. It is not a good movie but interesting what is said about Marty and this song!

You couldn't believe it, but I was actually blubbing when I listened. And it's not even the first time, I know the song quite well - that's why I looked for it. Probably because my dearest friend has left us a few months ago... "We rode the trail together and rode it side by side, I loved him like a brother, and I wept when Franco died".

My son is 46 now . He was raised on this album. We listened to it every day while we sat on the porch and swung in our swing.
