The Master's Call sung by Marty Robbins from his "Gunfighter Ballads and Trail Songs".

I have tried to tell the story to the song that's of a young cowboy who runs with a "bad" crowd but after a freak accident or divine intervention, he is redeemed, turns to good from that point in time.

I have used the fantasic photo's by Mr Jim Hatzell, who's brilliant western shots have supported the song so well. With a couple of photo's of lightning, Jesus and the great Hank Worden (playing a preacher).

Please enjoy the song and pictures.

I do not own the music or photo's (I wish I had Jim's talent though) and make no profit from it. I love this song and wanted to honour it with some great photo's that Jim has taken.

If you are interested in the photo's please take a look at

www.fiddlersgreenstudio.com

and if you like the song then Marty has two classic albums

"Gunfighter Ballads and Trail Songs" and "More Gunfighter Ballads and Trail Songs" on Columbia Records.

I have both of those albums (and several others by Marty Robbins) on vinyl. Just finished listening to side A of "More Gunfighter Ballads and Trail Songs" a few seconds ago (I have a stack of Robbins LP's on my changer right now).

Its sad that westerns with religious themes turn into Christian rock .

My father sang these ballads at bedtime a decade after the Korean War to my brother and I. I always wondered why Marty Robbins couldn't sing as good as my dad. Got saved out of a miry pit of rebellion and drug use. I asked my father a few years ago why he didn't sing this song. "I did, you might not have been listening," he replied. Of course. Thanks for the post.

Read the lyrics with no music and it was like reading a gospel. Brought a tear to my eye. Powerful stuff.

This song is like acrobatics for the voice. He wrote it. I am amazed every time I hear it just how beautiful his voice really is.
