Friend of mine recorded this song about 3 decades ago and performed this later in front of Jim Glaser, as he visits The Netherlands (Europe). Jim was totaly flabbergasted and got tears in the eyes as he whispered: this the best rendition I ever heard. The singer was RUUD HERMANS.

Mark sat in with my band, Rattlesnake Shake, in the 90's at Adams County Fairgrounds. We knew some of his stuff, but all he wanted to sing was Merle. We knew about 40 Haggard songs. So, for 1/2 hour it was, Mark Chesnutt does Hag with Rattlesnake Shake. He sang with us, we sang with him. Wish I had recorded it. Played with, or opened for, a lot of recording artists in those days.
