Back in the 90s, "remix" - especially in the context of rock - usually meant a more subtle 'alternative' mix. Of course it can still mean that, but we usually think of 'remix' as a more drastic deconstruction these days. Anyway - yeah, this isn't drastically different from the original, but enough to notice.
