The Ragin' Cajun is back! Earlier this year, I inadvertently deleted my You Tube account and lost all my videos. Among them were several rare Doug Kershaw songs from an old PBS show called "Fiddlers Three" which starred Doug, Jean Luc Ponty and Itzhak Perlman. I dug for the VHS tape but never could find it so I assumed I had tossed it after my initial transfer to digital. Just last week, while cleaning my work room, I found the tape! I will upload the 4 Kershaw songs as well as the show finale that starred all three fiddlers. This was Doug's fourth song, "Louisiana Man".

I saw doug singing this song sometime in the late 60's or early 70's on tv..I have not seen that presentation on youtube like the one I saw...it was WILD and fast...I absolutely loved it.....10 years ago

Had every intention of uploading the full program once I got the okay for extended postings. However, the VHS tape has gone missing and I have been placed on 6-month probation (no more extended uploads) for uploading a 25-year old Christian television sermon that apparently still has a copyright owned by the dead preacher's ex-porn star wife. Go figure... I suggest getting some sleep. It may be a while before I get around to that project.10 years ago

On this day in 1970 {April 29th} Doug Kershaw performed "Louisiana Man" on the ABC-TV program "The Johnny Cash Show"... Nine years earlier in 1961 Doug and his brother Rusty's original version reached #10 on Billboard's Hot Country Singles chart... Two covered versions made the Top 100; the Pozo-Seco Singers {#97 in 1967} and Bobbie Gentry {#100 in 1968}... In 1970 Connie Smith took it to #14 on the Country chart... R.I.P.
