I think Kurt Vonnegut said something to the effect that that those three words"I love you" were the most oppressive thing you could say to anyone, because there is onlyone acceptable answer - "I love you too". Back in the 70's I had a good friend who saw Loudon, Kurt, and Lenny Bruce as a triumvirate of sanity and realism - you can begin to se why when Loudon puts that sentiment of Kurt Vonnegut's into song....
