Not Dropped D. It's in Open D tuning (DADF#AD).

gunner08712010....Small world, as I was at this concert with the guy that filmed it, along with a Navy Capt that was stationed at Millington at the time. Kick ass show.

I remember taking a music appreciation class in high school and got to hear this song for the first time. The funny thing was, I had heard Leo years before, and when the teacher asked if anybody knew who this was, I answered immediately. His feel and tone are something to really be taken in great doses. Thanks for uploading this, i just wish that I had a camera with me for the two times that I've seen him live!

Leo takes over where Les Paul and Chet Atkins left off. I saw him play in Milwaukee in 1986, he's as impressive in person as you'd think from his best-of videos.

I was stationed in Millington in the early 90's and was fortunate enough to see him in Memphis......as saffold81 said .......he hung around and talked to just about everyone that wanted to talk to him. I had him write a note to my friend and sign it (My friend turned me on to Leo Kottke, when he was out playing the bars as a solo act.......later he played drums in a band) I asked Leo to write.....Hey Rick, give up the drums and stick to the guitar

Leo makes it sound so effortless. Attempting to deconstruct his picking (as John Stropes has done so well over the years) is hard. Trying to duplicate his picking, well, that's nearly impossible.

@signguy3434 Well all of his music is acoustic guitar-based, instrumental stuff, so you can't really expect an entire musical spectrum. He plays one genre in which he excels. That might give the impression that it all sounds the same. You couldn't expect a sudden dubstep sound coming from that guitar. Moreover,

This is the easiest and calmest I've ever seen him play. Incredible.

Of course this is not a Kottke composition.
