It's so very hard for singers to cover songs that were released by the legendary Patsy Cline, and here LeAnn makes a game attempt. I do think that she is trying too hard to sing it like Patsy, (this is most likely the idea of whoever it was that produced this recording). LeAnn should adapt the song to suit herself more, to avoid the frequent cracks in her voice when she tries to inject the "Patsy effect". Nevertheless, it's great that singers like LeAnn and Mandy Barnett do keep these songs alive, much better than the mass of artifical soulless pap that the modern era spews out constantly, to please the corporate monster machine. Sorry, can't help ranting!

LeAnn Rimes and Patsy Cline are of my favorite singers, whom sing this song. Timeless, and both capture the beauty of the song.

Ugh... Like too many of today's country singers she drifts all over the place in an effort to jazz up the melody. Furthermore, the backing band sounds like some cheap midi synth program with no interaction with the singer. Even worse is the over-singing on the chorus, which is often off key, as well as the awful voice cracks she inserts in order to convey emotion - instead they convey poor taste. A song like this can be schmaltzy crud or a gorgeous ballad, and Rimes lands it firmly in the former camp. This version is tuneless garbage compared to the original, Patsy's, or the classic Ray Price and Willie Nelson version.

I don't blame LeAnn Rimes, I'd just like to shoot the 'everything including the kitchen sink' producer. A beautiful song, absolutely murdered. Try The Glasers, Or Ray Price and Willie.
