its sad to see such a talented man wither away and die becuz of an addiction. i know theres alot of people out there that have the addiction and i know its a hard habit to break. i wish there was an easy way for them to come out of it but theres not. they have to want to quit it. some of my friends done it becuz of depression and some done it becuz of the high they get and it keeps them going. i wish that there was no such thing as these drugs it tears to many families and relationships apart. its really sad. some of these kids who have had parents who die from these drugs how can u explain it to them so they understand?

I'll never understand it ither, some ppl get lucky & come off of their addictions weither it be booze or pills ect. But yeah some ppl can't be saved. If they've done it for decades then it would be hard to come back off of it. An addict has to have his or her mind truly made up to quit. It does not happen overnight & withdrawals are going to suck. Prayers for anyone that really want to get clean & stay clean.Life is short Don't Waste it & Don't take the ppl you love for granted. They need you in this world. Lastly, Anyone out there feel like giving up? Don't- Drugs is Noway to solve any problem. The user already knows the truth they have to get sober with professional help. Being alone or with ppl that keep it around aren't true friends. Any substance abuse is bad. Don't wait till it's too Late & get caught up into it. Everyone has a purpose in life & Yes You Matter. It may seem like the dark cloud over you will never fade but the truth is it will within time. Be with ppl who support you & believe in you that understand & want to understand. Being alone is the worst thing you can do if you are feeling broken. Know that you can always change the path you choose to follow in life & tommorow is a second chance.

I'm a mother of a brilliant son who happens to be an addict. You can't do or say anything to make them stop! They need to want it. Meanwhile I'm there for him. I sit up all night just to make sure he's breathing as he sleeps. He's been to rehab more than I can count. But this things got a hold of my baby boy like possession. It would probably be easier for an exorcism than to make him get clean. So don't blame Jerry for Layne's actions. All I can do is be his mother and love him. And hope he'll come out of this alive.

Seems like most of his fans know all about the battles with drugs and addiction. I have never done recreational drugs, not even pot. I just love the music, it takes me back to a special time.

I got one word for you "nortriptyline" I've taking this drug with Vicodin and steroids it will Eliminate 80 to 90percent of the addictive nature of these medicines.

Such a huge loss, Layne Staley. Music hasn't been the same without you. I love Alice in Chains, and I'm so glad that they are still around, but it's not the same without Layne. Those guys went through utter hell and are a true testament to being strong, staying together, and moving on. But still not the same without Layne, and the sound isn't the same. We all miss you Layne Staley. Wish we could go back in time to save you.

Did layne ever get on methadone? That's the only thing that worx unfortunately for some people. Sadly it wouldn't help with the other drugs like the cocaine and Crack cuz that's what I think riddled laynes body and life more probably. Heroin doesn't make u look that bad like he did in the end. Plus the part for me that made me wanna get help was losing everything like kids house car job. He had so much money that he didn't have to wake up wondering how he was gonna manage getting the thirty bux for a bag of dope. That part drove me insane like scrounging up two bux in change to buy gas and then using the actual paper money to buy the drugs. Nutz
