You fucking assholes! So easy to say such heartless judgemental shit from your little bubble that you obviously live in. Drug addiction is a disease just like cancer and people that are battling this disease don't want to have a disease. Layne Staley openly discussed his problem and in his last interview 4 months before he died he said that he wasn't using to get high but that the dope sickness was so painful that he was using just to stay out of pain and that he wished he'd never touched the stuff. And his friend that saw him the night before he was believed to have passed yes two weeks before he was found he was very sick but told Starr that if he called 911 that he would break off their friendship.

Deceased a few days? Try 14 days buddy!! Layne's body was found on April 19th but his death was placed at April 5th. What I don't understand is, where were his friends, family, band mates? I read Starr was the last person to see Layne alive. Jerry said he'd visited Layne and he was still writing songs. OK so, back to my question. Where were they for 14 days? Christ I don't get it!!!

I always find it amazing how people talk about how sweet and honest and bright and funny someone was, but they die with a heroin needle in their arm. Please understand, I am not saying that addicts are human garbage or anything like that; I have someone very close to me that is dealing with a bad meth addiction. I just find people's comments very ironic.
